When were find ourselves constantly taking the ‘next left’ we also inadvertently find ourselves going round and round in a cycle of habits, thought patterns and ‘doing’ cycles that can mean that we get a little bit stuck.
Round and round in circles like being caught up in a maze and being unable to find the exit.
At times like this, it’s really helpful to be able to climb up the highest tree and see if we can find a helpful way out.
Now, I have been known to physically get stuck up a tree - clinging on like a Koala , unable to move. To the extent that I needed to be rescued from the trunk of a tree in Portmeirion by a man with an ‘articulated boom lift’ 🙈
It was quite embarrassing as I was a fully grown woman and a gaggle of onlookers had formed to take in the scene (and I did hear a few giggles )
If only I had known about Mindfulness back then.
Because Mindfulness offers us the scaffolding we need to be able to see more clearly without us even needing to leave the ground.
So that we can gain perspective, recognise what’s making us ‘stuck’ and find the next right hand turn 💙
