The body is fine tuned to respond to it’s physical surroundings and ever changing emotional landscape.
We often feel a physical response to something before our conscious brain kicks in and begins to make sense of a situation.
The body doesn’t lie.
And I feel now through my Mindfulness Practice that I am
much more in tune with how my body responds to challenging and emotional situations.
And I can choose to respond more skillfully and with a greater sense of self kindness by using Mindfulness Meditation .
Listening to my body, I can name any difficult emotions or thoughts that have arisen and allow them to just ‘be’ without feeding them with more ‘thinking’. I can allow the thoughts or emotions to pass by like clouds in the sky. So that I can be more objective and skilful in my response.
I am not saying that I have this completely ‘sussed’
There are still times when I fail to recognise when emotions ‘show up’ and I respond without thinking - sometimes this is not good at all.
But I am just me, trying to be the best version of me. And sometimes I don’t get it right.
But tuning in to my physical awareness and using my Mindfulness Practice really does help.
And it’s called ‘practice’ for a reason.
