There is a reason the British are so obsessed with the weather.
It’s so changeable we can sometimes have four seasons in one day.
We can’t rely on the weather ‘doing what it’s supposed to do’ in any season but one thing we do appreciate and never take for granted is a sunny day.
It feels like everywhere and everyone opens up when the sun shines.
Our shoulders drop, we breathe more deeply. We smile more. We are more likely to stop and chat to our neighbours even if just to say what a gorgeous day it is.
These days can be a little fleeting in the UK. And so we have to make the most of them.
But wouldn’t it be great if the deep breaths, shoulders dropping and smiles were not exclusive to sunny days.
Through Mindfulness, we can find the joy no matter what the weather. We can better appreciate life around us more fully and engage in the moment. This moment. Right now.
And we can develop our capacity to allow ourselves some time and space to just be, regardless of what life and it's ever-changing weather throws at us.
